GRIT Paradragons Racing Team

GRIT Paradragon Racing Team is the competitive racing team of PDUSA, bringing together para-athletes and support paddlers for selected races across the country and beyond. Rather than training together regularly, team members meet at event locations such as Puerto Rico, participate in a one- or two-day training camp, develop their timing and teamwork as a crew, and then race together as GRIT. This event-based format creates opportunities for athletes from different regions to connect, develop, and compete together.

Visit the PDUSA EVENTS page for upcoming training camps and races.

All participants must complete the general PDUSA waiver before taking part in any PDUSA-organized activity. Please note that races and other special events may also require separate event-specific waivers, which must be completed as instructed.

GOALS

Year 'round. The Paradragons USA coaches provide training plans and accountability programs that will help paddlers achieve their goals, supporting physical, mental, and nutritional needs. We will be holding Training Camps throughout the year in various locations for the purpose of consistent technique and team building. Regional Trainers will be available for local training and workshops.

RESPECT

Team members come from all over the United States. It is imperative that each paddler takes responsibility for their own improvement and advancement by following their own training program, practicing with their local teams, racing in local and national events, and attending camps.

Paradragons USA informs and prepares dragon boat paddlers, both adaptive and support, for international level competition. Each hopeful candidate is responsible for setting their own personal goals to prepare for training and testing to reach the highest desired level of competition.
